this made me feel so so good. i am so happy to be that person for you (and anyone else!) i still have days, often, when i look back at grad school (x2) and long distance and remember the nights i spent in libraries and working in retail (folding ~10,000 pairs of stretchy lululemon pants..) and wonder how on earth i did it, but also marvel with appreciation for my younger self for doing so. lemme give you this advice: don’t envy people who aren’t working hard - know that there are seasons in everyones’ life and if you lean into this one, work hard, and take care of yourself, you are taking care of your future self. education is something you earn that can never be taken from you. the ability to power through and balance your time (working while in school is commendable and hard and i know how tough it feels sometimes) is a life skill you are honing. and it feels that much better to reap the rewards when you remember those long nights and those exams and everything in between.
Hot coffee and cold winter mornings are two of the best soul mates who ever did find each other.
